Oleth's Musings on Yuki: Ang Mensahero ng Pag-Asa by Rhois Lacson

I bought some books from fellow 8Letters authors during the Manila International Book Fair 2024 at SMX Convention Center.

There are many great books but I will have to get the others later. So here's my first haul from the #MIBF2024.

Among these books, I will give feedback first to Yuki: Ang Mensahero ng Pag-Asa by Rhois Lacson.

The book Yuki is written in Filipino and English which is very nice for children who are more adept at one language over the other. In this way, the children can read the book in the language they are comfortable with while understanding the context in both languages.

As someone who is quite emotional, tears easily wanted to escape my eyes by the end of reading it. It is sure to touch your hearts.

I let my seven-year-old daughter read it and she voiced her feelings regarding Yuki, and she even answered the activities at the back of the book which is a great extra for engaging kids after the story.

My 26-year-old son even said that he thought the story was inspired by my youngest daughter, as my youngest is also the same as Yuki who uses much of notepads (or any paper) to express her feelings. Whether it is to say sorry or I love You, she makes sure to express her feelings first through drawing and writing sometimes even before she gets the courage to say it in person. He said he was touched by the story which proves just how heartwarming Yuki's story is.

While reading the story, I was hoping and praying that this book be noticed by companies like post-its and make this an inspiration for their campaign material that there is no excuse for us not to say what we want, especially in giving encouragement, hope, and joy to other people regardless of our circumstances.
